I'm just giving my third effort a test listen; barring any radical re-ordering of trackage or changes to the content it should be out before the end of this week. UPDATE: It's done, it's dusted and it's sitting on Andy's desk. It's a wee bit longer than usual (19 tracks) but I've been listening to loads of stuff lately.. and I've not done a compo for awhile.. and.. well.. cos..

I'm not going to go in depth into this ablum trut by trut, but here is an overview Like being stuck in a traffic jam with an overheating engine and a full bladder, On your way to the airport to fly on your only holiday for the next 10 years, knowing that your flight leaves in an hour and you are 1 hour and 20 minutes away from the car park, with an irritating relation of your partner complaining. There were 4 tracks from this that didn't urge me to get up and pour vim in the authors eyes. 12, 15, 16 and 17 A couple of tracks I think will grow on my, but it's too little too late for the jury. OF WITH HIS HEAD!!!

Paulo's review of Tears Before Bedtime :
1 - it keeps skipping... despite being copied to my hard drive... absolute crap for the first minute, then gets better. But not much. 2 - gay. 3 - now i've been meaning to get round to buying some sort of greatest hits type affair by this bloke for ages, here's a timely reminder for me to get on with it! 4 - so gay. 5 - loud and fuzzy, definitely not gay. 6 - er... interesting. Can't believe I had to look up the lyrics to remember who did the original... doh! 7 - why is he pinching his nose when he's singing? irritating... but jaunty...but still bowwocks! 8 - yeah, whatever... 9 - very, very strange... but i like it! I'd even say... majestic! 10 - started off ok... not bad... yeah, s'ok. 11 - from the years most disappointing album i'm afraid to say, i've tried to like it, i really have! This is one of the highlights though. 12 - loud guitars? check. catchy tune? check. do i like it? not particularly. 13 - thanks god it was only 1.32 long... 14 - not bad. 15 - its very quiet... and a bit dull... goes nowhere and does nothing... 16 - ah, here we go, its taken until the 16th track for something typically bizzarre and quite frankly excrement as fudge to appear, you're slipping Dave! skippy skip skip! 17 - eh up, sounds promising... ooooh, funky! I thought i recognised it, now the vocals come in i know who it is... crazy swedes! 18 - nah, toss. 19 - trippy... sounds familiar for some reason... oh, its them, yeah... not liked any of their stuff before, but i rather liked this.
Well, not many on here that made me want to skip, just the one track in fact. And several i actually rather liked, track 9 being the stand out! A success! ;D

Strange but true, my last compilation has actually made it all the way around the circulation list. Scarily it seemed to linger longer in Shuey's draw then it did on Brett's desk (a worrying development). Anyway, as is my wont, I've posted the track-listing on the blog.. Tears Before Bedtime - track by track

He's the new Brett, an accolade i'm sure he'll want to get rid of...
