seeing as we've got this CD compilation thing sorted, we (that's Disco Stu and myself) think it's time to go to the next level; internet radio. we've done some checking on Live365 and have compared the various packages available to us. for a nominal fee (between £8 - £14 per month) we can stream audio across the interweb to anyone who chooses to "tune in". depending on which package we pick the plan is to broadcast two of the current Son of Music Club compilations, accompanied by one of the original Music Club CDs. this does, of course, hang on how much storage the package we select gives us (and the availability of the MC CDs). Stu is also quite excited at the prospect of making wee jingles and such to drop in amidst the programming. bless. anyway, I'm putting the idea up on the forum for discussion. so, go on, discuss.

I take it we will all chip in 50p/£1 etc - sounds like a good idea to me................
And yes everybody knows Leonard is most definitely "the shizzle"

Sounds a good idea, or you could do your own Podcast. From today, radio is dead. Speaking of which- have you checked out the Tiki Bar TV video podcast yet. Episode 9 'Red Oktober' came down this week.

Sounds a good idea, or you could do your own Podcast. well, I must admit I did give some thought to releasing my latest compilation as an iMix. a podcast shouldn't be all that difficult to do, the guy on The Gadget Show knocked his up with a laptop and a copy of Audacity; easy peasy. still, I wouldn't say radio is dead just yet..

h'mm.. I don't really think it's an either\or scenario, one can complement the other. WOXY is an (excellent) internet radio station which also makes some of its programming available via podcasts. of course, that's on a much bigger scale than what Stu and I were thinking of, but the idea is basically the same. if anyone wants to go ahead and knock up a podcast of their (or combined) compilations then feel free in the meantime I'll get the wheels in motion for SoMC-FM (or whatever snappy name it gets called).

OK, so I never quite got round to emailing all and sundry for their old compilations; that's my new year's resolution. In the meantime, if anyone feels like it, you can check out the radio station built around my Last.FM profile (you'll need to download the free Last.FM player first though), isn't technology wonderful?
