So, here we are again. It's getting near to the end of the year (the latest Now That's What I Call A Compilation is in the shops already) so time indeed for one of those Best/Worst Of The Year type things. All you have to do (should you wish to do so) is copy the selections below into a fresh reply and fill in with what has tickled (or upset) your respective fancies this year. If you're not sure about the whole 'copy/paste' thing then PM me. Best Album:Best Single:Best Band:Best Solo Artiste:Best Newcomer:Best Gig:Best Video:Worst Album:Worst Single:Worst Band:Worst Solo Artiste:Worst Newcomer:Worst Gig:Worst Video:Album\Band from yesteryear that I've stumbled across this year:Music Website of the Year:Song of the Year:You don't have to fill in all the fields if you don't want to, you can give more than one answer to each section and there's no prizes for naming the most obscure band you can think of. Just fill your boots and have a go...

Best Album: The Decemberists - 'The Crane Wife', Pure Reason Revolution - 'The Dark Third', Wolfmother - 'Wolfmother', Amy Winehouse - 'Back To Black', The Knife - 'Silent Shout' and, strange but true, Arctic Monkeys - 'Whatever People Say I Am..' (a complete about face there then, I was slagging them off this time last year). Best Single: The Fratellis - 'Chelsea Dagger', The Raconteurs - 'Steady As She Goes', Lily Allen - 'LDN' Best Band: The Knife Best Solo Artiste: King Creosote (for being a really nice bloke and putting up with two tipsy Englishmen wittering on to him for a couple of hours on a Summer's day). Best Newcomer: Lily Allen, Scott Matthews Best Gig: I've seen some really good gigs this year (King Creosote @ The Wedgewood Rooms, The Decemberists @ Koko, The Who @ Beaulieu, Easy Star All-Stars @ The Brook, Richard Hawley @ The Wedgewood Rooms) but Delays @ The Wedgewood Rooms probably takes the prize. They were so good I went back the next night to see them again. Oh, and Girls Aloud were entertaining as well. Ahem. Best Video: Gnarls Barkley - 'Crazy', Lily Allen - 'Smile' Worst Album: Me? Buy a bad album? For shame... the new Kasabian CD was a disappointment though, as was the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and the Flaming Lips albums. Worst Single: Red Hot Chili Peppers - 'Dani California' Worst Band: The Feeling (they're just so.. whiny) Worst Solo Artiste: Whoever wins X-Pop-Factor-Idol Worst Newcomer: see previous answer Worst Gig: I had the misfortune to see Journey South live, strangely they were marginally less annoying than The Automatic. Teddy Thompson was pretty bad, which was a shame as I like what I've heard from him since. Worst Video: Well, I've seen some wrong things on YouTube.. Album\Band from yesteryear that I've stumbled across this year: Gotan Project Music Website of the Year: Last.FM, Swedes Please, StereogumSong of the Year: Too many to pick from.. If I'd got around to buying The Eraser or Live It Out they'd more than likely make an appearance in the Best Album list (I like what I've heard of both), there's only so much money I can spend on shiny things though..
