I just saw this interesting article on the BBC Collective website, covering the International Mixtape Project. It's an American based (but now worldwide) collection of musos who send out compilations to each other (sounds familiar so far) though in a slightly different fashion to the SoMC; they use that grand old medium, the audio cassette. The article is a good read, with some interesting comments on how people view creating compilations. So popular has the IMP become that they've had to put a hold on new members joining (can't see that happening around here).
