Remember Homelands? Remember the old adage about not fixing things which aren't broken? Well, somebody forgot it. This year Homelands has been replaced by a new two-centre festival call Hi:Fi. Hi:Fi North is.. err.. somewhere up north. Hi:Fi South takes the late May weekend slot at the Matterley Bowl. From the looks of things it's very similar to Homelands with the addition of a live stage to accompany the selection of dance arenas (though the blurb on the website says it's a "genre defying collection of both live and DJ talent" which "will change the musical boundaries of festivals forever". Which is nice. The line-up for the live stage at Hi:Fi South is as follows: Sat 27th May Hard-FiSuper Furry AnimalsThe Go! Team+ more TBASun 28th May Ian BrownThe SubwaysBrakes+ more TBAThere are also several dance arenas ( Godskitchen, Polysexual & Slinky and the Electric Arena) as well as a Radio Soulwax Presents tent. Full line-up information can be found on the Hi:Fi South website. Tickets for the weekend are £99 for the weekend, with day tickets available at £54.50 (both plus booking fee). VIP tickets are also available. More information can be found at the official website or from the local BBC Entertainment site.
