Southampton's Access Festival, held in Mayflower Park, is a free event featuring local bands that you're not likely to hear on PowerFM.

The Access Festival is itself part of the three day EAT Southampton Arts Festival, promoting "emerging artistic talent" (hence the name) in the city.

The line-up for this year is as follows:

Ben Dlugokecki was the support for Ezio at The Talking Heads last night, and very good he was too. If you like Tom McRae then think along those lines; his voice also reminded me (in places) of Mark Morriss from The Bluetones.. which was nice. He's got some MP3s on his website (I signed up for the mailing list last night, so there should be a 6 track CD coming my way gratis at some point too).
