Covers CD with this month's Q

If, like me, you only buy Q when there's a decent coverdisk stuck to the front then, also like me, you'll probably not have bought a copy in awhile. That changes this month, the issue in shops at the moment features a cracking CD featuring 80's covers by, as Q puts it, "essential artists".

August's Q (it's the one with Madge on the cover) comes with a CD featuring "15 exclusive new covers", all 80's tracks rendered by contemporary artists. The track-listing is as follows:

Only 9 of the tracks are really 'exclusive' though, the rest are b-sides or album fillers. It's a bit hit and miss, The Futureheads tune is a bit disappointing but Teddy Thompson's take on Crowded House is better than I'd expected (ahem).

The Boy Least Likely To, Neal Casal, boykillboy and Camera Obscura tracks are all worth a listen; for some reason the Orson cover annoyed me more than the Katie Melua one, bizarre.
