eeh, I'd nearly given up on this making it to me..
01 the way of the samurai is long one.. whatever happened to Forest Whittaker anyway?
02 sounds a bit like Athlete have stolen Brian Molko's rhyming dictionary. but I like it.
03 aha, I was wondering how far into your compilation it would be before this lot made an appearance
very nice, very mellow.. it has a Belle & Sebastian feel to it (now there's a cop out thing to say).
04 I like this.. has a weird "this should be montage music in a Guy Ritchie movie" feel to it. skankingly good fun.
05 when this started I thought it was going to be White Horses
I've heard some of her stuff before (admittedly on a Dawson's Creek soundtrack CD) and liked it.
06 I read on a forum that he's a Scientologist, and also not a very nice person. then again, a lot of rubbish is written on forums *koff* and this is, as Cartman might say, kick ass!
07 if only Jeb had locked his rifle away more securely, then none of this would've happened. still, if jeb had been more security minded, and his brother not so much of a klepto, then this excellent song wouldn't be here.
08mmm.. spam margaritas..
09 it's mellow and shambly.. shambly is a word I made up, and it fits this perfectly.
10 sounds a bit like lo-fi 'At The Drive-in..' and that's a good thing.
11 I like what I've heard of this bloke; Stu's got some on his iRiver. cracking delivery, rolls well, memorable words (for example "Yeah, if these walls could talk they wouldn't shut the fudge up"). weirdly enough it reminds me of Modest Mouse. just me? OK, moving swiftly on..
12 beautiful.
13 I don't care if he's Muhammad I'm hard Bruce Lee. You can't change fighters..
14 quite.
15 classic. absolute classic.
16 Craig had mentioned this in passing, it's bloody good. Ridiculous, but good. I think they're on tour soon, might be worth checking them out live.
17 lovely.
18err.. yes. and that's why I don't wear a watch.
all in all a good selection of tracks (none of which skipped). plenty here of interest; a couple I recognised, a couple I'd be tempted to hear more of, a couple I had to Google to work out who they were.
gutted there's no klezmer though..
