I've probably bent most everyone's ear about this fab internet radio station already.. but you've missed out, or if you've not been bothered before, go check it out!. the streaming feed is pretty good (even with the proxy shenanigans at work), it's mono in WinAmp but the WMP is stereo. they'll play just about anything, and they take requests.. oh, and they had Kasabian in the studio today.. Kasabian! jings..

Unfortunately, despite it being probably the best internet radio station across the whole wide web (IMHO), and having pulled off a quite remarkable Lazarus act last time it looked like buying the farm, it appears that time has finally run out for WOXY. An announcement appeared on the famed radio station's website over the weekend; the business model has failed and there just isn't the money to keep the station 'on the air'. Little short of a miracle The Future of Rock'n'Roll will be (once again) silenced come September 15th. The message wraps up as follows.. It's a damn shame. Thanks to WOXY I heard of some excellent bands that I'd not have encountered otherwise, bands such as Fruit Bats, Over The Rhine, Forget Cassettes and, most importantly, The Decemberists. As its says on the website, this sucks..

Just when you thought it was all over, when they'd packed up the CD collection and turned the lights out, along comes another white knight to save the day. Bill Nguyen (of CD trading site LaLa) has rode in on his noble steed and saved the day. WOXY is back, the streams are up and running, and all is lovely super smashing once again. Woohoo!
