Mew are back! a new track, Apocalypso, is already available from iTunes and other such reputable outlets. it's released as a limited edition 7" single on 18th July. on the same day an alternate version will be available for download. which is nice. I've heard the single edit and damn good it is too (the NME liked it though, which is worrying). the new album (Mew & The Glass Handed Kites) is due for release later in the year (Sony keep rescheduling it, doh!), but it'll probably be out around the time of their live dates in September (which includes The Wedgewood Rooms, wahey!). I wonder if this is the time and place to re-run my "I've bought that Jonas Bjerre a beer" story? nah, I'll save it for later

well you can blame Sony for that; they've changed the release date at least three times now! still, if Apocalypso was anything to go by then it should be good. Special is out soon, the video is up on Mew's website already. it might be worth you checking out the Mew forum, occasionally people post up interesting stuff, maybe a live recording of one of the recent gigs will surface *koff*

Special is out today (though if, like me, you pre-ordered it, you'll have had it since Saturday) and damn fine it is too. The CD single is media enhanced, so it has the (bizarre) video along with the Radio Mix, a live version of Apocalypso and a mellow 'b-side'. For the vinyl lovers it's also available on two 7" singles (with different b-side tracks to the CD). The album, Mew & the Glass Handed Kites, is out already in Japan. It was released today in Denmark, we've got to wait until the 26th to get our grubby mitts on it.
