as widely reported on the internet, Fiona Apple is finally releasing her 3rd CD, "Extraordinary Machine".
rumour has it that Sony initially refused to release it thinking it wasn't "commercial" enough. it languished on a shelf somewhere until it mysteriously spilled onto the web where it was lapped up by fans, musos and critics.
one hastily but well organised campaign later and out comes the CD. however, it's not the version that was leaked (which I've *koff* heard). it seems Ms Apple has re-recorded the whole CD. h'mm...
still, there's finally a release date (though on previous experience with Sony that's subject to change) and a couple of the tracks are downloadable from iTunes already. alternatively you could trot over to Scenestars for a taster (they're streaming one of the 'new' tunes).
