With just over under 100 days to go a few more acts have been added to the line-up for this year's Nokia IOW Festival. The latest additions are Foo Fighters (so the rumours were true then) and (wait for it) Coldplay. This leaves the line-up looking as follows: Friday 9th June 2006The Prodigy Placebo Goldfrapp The Rakes Saturday 10th June 2006Foo Fighters Primal Scream Editors Dirty Pretty Things The Kooks The Upper Room 747s Sunday 11th June 2006Coldplay Richard Ashcroft Lou Reed Maximo Park Kubb Well, that's bill slowly rounding out though, according to the festival website, there's more to come. The line-up is looking better I must say, it's still galling that there are no one-day tickets available this year. I've added the above info into the Events Calendar, complete with full ticket information and web links.

Well, an email in my inbox this morning announced that the Festival organisers are "very pleased to be announcing that Richard Ashcroft will be playing as the penultimate act on Sunday 11th June @ the 2006 Isle of Wight Festival."
And still more acts are to be announced. Which is nice. From the looks of it I'd be up for the Sunday but, unfortunately, no day tickets are available this year. Boo I say, and hiss.

It must be the tempting lure of Coldplay.. the 2006 Isle of Wight Festival has, after some dilly-dallying at the weekend, sold out. For those of us who didn't get tickets there's always the Beaulieu Summer Pops or the Hi:Fi South Festival. Or I might get the back garden tidied up and hold Merkinbury 2006 (well, it's possible).

It might be SOLD OUT but that hasn't stopped the organisers adding more bands to the bill. Saturday's line-up now includes local outfit The On Offs (who won a competition to snatch their space on the festival stage) and The Proclaimers (who will, most likely, do a much better version of 500 Miles than the Dublin Raiders managed in Chicago Rock last week). Sunday is now rounded out with the Skyline Heroes (no, me either) and 60's legends Procul Harum (who's classic A Whiter Shade Of Pale has been covered a ridiculous number of times, even though no-one really knows what it's about). And there's still stalk of more acts being added... d'oh!

And still the line-up changes.. Marjorie Fair are now, apparently, not taking to the stage. Instead their slot on the Sunday is now taken by Delays. Doh! I'm going to sulk, really I am.
