And now for something completely different…..
This, the 'ACOUSTIK TOUR', starting from the 8th March, marks the start of what I hope is a new aspect to the music I have previously done. Placing something new in the public arena.
Sonically it will be different, as it will be the combination of acoustik guitar and piano..keyboards. I won't be using drums or programs and there won't be any clicktraks….. never been a fan of those stupid machines.
The moment I hear them clicking, I immediately veer off course or reach for the plug. Terminated.
I will be taking a Grotsch guitar with me, which will be jacked into my Gibson 'Skylark' amp, 10 or 12 watts I'm told, so no big crashing Grotsch thru the amps going down as in evil Spear.
The sets themselves will be different at times even from even the 'Dutch Masters' 1..2..3 from which most of the material for this tour is sourced. Some of the arrangements will be more like the original recordings done in the eighties and nineties, barring 1 or 2 songs from the new album 'Loadestone'. There will also be a few musical pieces inbetween some songs, short but I hope different enough for a listener to get a musical blast out of.
As for the actual presentation, we'll all have to wait and see. I dare say a few smiles will be raised along the way.
….Stevie and I are halfway thru the setlist at the moment….theres a few very fine moments at this stage, which I hope will continue to grow as the rehearsals continue.
The show itself will consist of two sets, & inbetween I'll come out front and say hello and sign anything people desire assigning.
As the Rehearsals..Tour progresses I will send despatches back from the various fronts, time permitting.
I'm going to sign off myself right now, as we are in the late early hours…so…..goodnight for now dear Friends.
