The provisional line-up for this year's Isle of Wight Festival was announced on Virgin Radio on Monday morning. Unfortunately, despite an email reminder from the organisers, I slept through the announcement. Oops. Acts thus far confirmed to be appearing are as follows: Friday 8th June Snow Patrol The Feeling Saturday 9th JuneMuse Kasabian Ash Wolfmother Amy Winehouse Arno CarstensSunday 10th JuneHeadliner TBC Keane The Fratellis Paolo Nutini James MorrisonMore acts, including the Sunday headliner, will be released in due course. Unfortunately, as per last year, there are no Day Tickets on sale. A Weekend non-camping ticket will cost £105 (plus booking fee). Full ticket information will appear in the Events Calendar.

Details of additional acts joining this year's line-up have started appearing on the official IOW Festival website (still no sign of the Sunday night headliner though). Added to Saturday is the pairing of Mick Jones ( The Clash, BAD) and Tony James ( Sigue Sigue Sputnik), otherwise known as Carbon/Silicon. And there's a FREE mini-album available for download on their website too. Filling out Sunday are Glasgow's The Hedrons and Woodstock legend Country Joe McDonald (print this off and you can sing along to his big hit). Nice.

And there's more... Virgin Radio announced, perhaps before they should, that The Rolling Stones are the long-awaited Sunday night headliners. They quite possibly jumped the gun a bit as the report on their website has since been removed and there's nary mention of rock's favourite pensioners on the festival's official site confirming their presence. The NME says it's so though, so there you go. In other news, previous attendees Groove Armada will now be playing on the Friday night, as will eighties legends Echo & The Bunnymen.

The Saturday afternoon 'chill-out' act has been announced. The legendary scottish singer-songwriter Donovan, oft touted as Britain's answer to Bob Dylan, has been added to the bill. Donovan played the last of the original IOW Festivals back in 1970, sadly these days he's best known as the guy who sings that song on the Magners Cider advert.
